Troy Anspaw Obituary, Death – On Sunday night, an officer-involved shooting near East 131st Street and South 145th East Avenue in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, tragically claimed the life of 54-year-old Troy Anspaw. Initiating an ongoing investigation, the Broken Arrow Police Department (BAPD) released body camera footage and provided details surrounding the encounter. Around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, BAPD responded to a call for service in a residential area, found Anspaw’s vehicle, and then pulled him over.

Anspaw allegedly refused to follow the officers’ orders and then came out of the vehicle brandishing a firearm, according to the BAPD. Officers opened fire on the scene. Officers rushed to Anspaw’s aid after the shooting and took him to a local hospital. The authorities still declared Anspaw dead, no matter what they did. Day after his shooting, the body camera footage showed a disturbing moment in which Anspaw begged the police to take his life.

According to Ethan Hutchins, the BAPD’s public information coordinator, the incident is currently under investigation. The FBI is also involved because of the potential involvement of tribal components. Hutchins reassured the public that there was no additional danger to the nearby community, stressing that the incident was an isolated one. Authorities have put the three officers shot on administrative leave in accordance with department policy.

As the investigation into the officer-involved shooting continues, the BAPD will keep the public apprised of developments, including the confirmation that Anspaw is the deceased person in question. The community is in shock and questions the circumstances surrounding the fatal encounter; the situation is still under scrutiny, but the body cam footage and initial statements shed light on a troubling and tragic event.
